Canyette!!! July 15, 2013

Hoooooooooooooola Familia!!!

Wow! So a whole lot of things happened this week! First and foremost, we had the chance this week to attend a training conference of all of the Sisters in the mission Peru Lima South! A week ago, when I got my new companion, 17 new sisters came in to the mission, making it a total of 31 all together!! So, Sister Douglas (President Douglas´s wife) wanted to have a meeting especially for the sisters! Haha so we all travelled there and had the chance to have an INCREDIBLE, super spiritual training with President and sister Douglas. I learned a whole lot, but the thing that stood out to me the most was what President taught us about the Atonement. He asked us a question that really stood out to be personally. How big is your desire to share the Gospel? Then afterwards he asked us, How big is your testimony of the Atonement of Jesus Christ? He said that if we really understood the sacrifice that Jesus Christ did for us, we would share the Gospel at all times without even thinking about it. I have seen that a lot of times in my mission and my personal testimony of the Atonement, and of Jesus Christ has grown incredible, for which I am super grateful :)

Then we went back to Ica, and went to work, teaching a whole lot of lessons, getting to know the area even more, and got a phone call on Sunday night that we were getting transferred to Canyette!!! And also that I would be receiving a new companion to train! Haha so today in the morning, we left ICA and we headed to Lima to pick up our new companion, HnA Mendoza from Salvador! And in the morning we are headed to Canyette to open up a new area again! Next week I will have more updates for you of that area. :)

I hope you have a wonderful week! You are in my prayers! I know this work is true and I know Jesus Christ lives. :)

Con mucho amor siempre,
Hna Elisheva Ali :)

De la tierra del eterno sol!!! July 8, 2013

Hola Familia!!!!

Once again, I dont have a whole lot of time to write!! But I dont have a whole lot of big news to report either. Ica is great!!! I will take a picture of it for next week so that you can see it. It is literally desert! Nothing more. Haha Desert and houses. A bit like Arizona! But I absolutely love it! It is suuuuuuuper flat and the area that we are in is super big!!! There are so many people that are prepared to hear the Gospel here, I can feel it! The ward here as well is INCREDIBLE! It is called ¨La Achirana¨ I love it SO much! The ward members are super warm, super loving, and most importantly, super ready to help the Lord´s kingdom grow in Ica! Their goal in the future is to have a temple here and because of that, together, we are working hard to find the children of God who are prepared for this incredible message of the Restoration! :)

Attached are some pictures of my last couple of nights in Ayacucho with super special families :) And lastly with my new companion Hna Chumbes! (in the pink shirt) We are super happy to be working here and excited to be together! :)

We had a super special experience this past Sunday fasting that I want to share really quickly as well. We fasted to be able to find someone who is prepared in this moment to hear the Gospel and has the desire to be baptized this month of July. We ended our fast, went out to proselyte, and found a young man, a reference from a member of the ward who wants to be baptized and is super excited!! It was another testimony builder to me that the Lord listens and answers our prayers and our fasts. :)

I love you all and hope your week is great! :)

Con mucho amor siempre,
Hna Elisheva Ali :)

Transfers!! July 1, 2013

Ok so I literally have less than 5 minutes to tell you of my crazy long week!!! My biggest news is that on Saturday night, we had the baptism of Johnathon!!! (he is great, I will send pictures next week) He wasnt our investigator, but we helped teach him and oh man, the service was GREAT! :) The spirit was way strong.

That night, we received transfer calls!! I found out that I was being transferred to ICA to train and to open a brand new area!!! Ah!!! My new companions name is Hna Chumbes. She is from Lima and her mission is actually in Argentina, but her visa is late. Haha so she is here and I am training her and we are opening a new area! I am super excited to be able to train again and to have this transfer! I was sad to leave Ayacucho, the land of paradise, but Ica has its own charm as well. Its basically a big town in the middle of a desert! Super cold at night, but ridiculously hot during the day (and its still winter here!) I dont have any more time to wite, but I wanted to let you know of these changes!

Thank you so much for all of the birthday love! I was made a cake and had a whole lot of Peruvian birthday love as well. I cant believe I am 22! :)

I love you all and I will update you more on Monday!

Con mucho amor siempre,
Hermana Elisheva Ali :)
